DMCA Policy

Last Updated: January 1, 2024

Narrative Cut Lab respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of its platform to do the same. This Digital Millennium Copyright Act Policy describes how Narrative Cut Lab responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement and how rights holders may submit a valid takedown request.

1. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content available through our platform infringes a copyright you own or control, you may submit a written notice to our designated agent. To be effective, your notice must include all of the elements described below.

1.1 Required Elements of a Takedown Notice

A valid infringement notice must contain the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the person authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of such works is acceptable.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, with sufficient detail to allow us to locate the material on our platform (for example, a URL).
  • Your contact information, including your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or applicable law.
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

2. Designated Agent Contact Information

Please send all DMCA notices to our designated copyright agent using the contact details below:

We recommend submitting notices by email to ensure the fastest possible response.

3. Counter-Notification Procedure

If you believe that material you submitted or posted was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. A valid counter-notification must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and the location at which it appeared before removal or disabling.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a competent court and that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original infringement notice or their agent.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not notify us that they have filed a legal action within the applicable statutory period, we may restore the removed material at our discretion.

4. Repeat Infringer Policy

Narrative Cut Lab maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. A repeat infringer is any user who has been subject to more than one valid takedown notice or who has otherwise repeatedly violated the intellectual property rights of others.

5. Misrepresentation

Please be aware that knowingly submitting a materially false DMCA notice or counter-notification may expose you to civil liability, including damages, court costs, and legal fees. Before submitting any notice, ensure that the content you are reporting genuinely infringes your copyright or that you have a legitimate good-faith basis for a counter-notification.

6. Modifications to This Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this DMCA Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting the revised policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
